BOOK SALE CORNER!
NOTE: Sorry, we cannot accept book or DVD donations until further notice.
BAG SALE! We have an abundance of items that have been trimmed from the Library’s collection and we will continue adding more as we work our way through our shelves! Bag Sale: All items (books, audiobooks, DVDs) $5 a bag.
Come browse our ongoing book sale at the library! We have all the favorite categories–paperback and hardcover fiction, mysteries, cooking, history, biography, children’s, etc. Prices for most books are $.50 & $1; we also have a small selection of more valuable books for slightly higher prices. The shelves are replenished on a regular basis so there is always something new to discover. Come browse our book sale any time the library is open; you’ll find it in the corner of the YA (Teen) area overlooking the porch.
Used book sales benefit both the library and the community. All proceeds from the Book Sale Corner go directly into the library’s operating budget enabling us to purchase new books and materials. The community has the opportunity to buy a wide variety of titles at exceptionally low prices getting many great books into the hands of readers. Even the environment benefits with all of these materials finding a second (or third? fourth? fifth?) life!
Popular categories: general fiction; mystery; classics & literature; children; teens; cooking; crafts; history & politics; health & well-being; biography; and more! We have large print and audio-books, too.
BOOK DONATIONS
NOTE: We cannot accept book or DVD donations until further notice.
We appreciate donations of clean, gently used books during certain times of the year (please check with us to see when/if we’re accepting items). Please bring books to the library when we’re open; do not leave donations outside or in the book return. There is a limit of two boxes or bags per household per week.
We are unable to accept:
VHS tapes
Textbooks
Encyclopedias
Reader’s Digest Condensed
Health info books more than five years old
Magazines
Games, toys, puzzles
Yearbooks & photo albums
Sorting and organizing the books is a labor intensive process! First, donations are checked to see if anything can be added to the library’s collection. Some may be set aside to be used as prizes for library activities (especially for children and teens). Books that are in good condition and of current interest go to the Book Sale. Books that are in poor condition (damaged, dirty, mildewed, smelly, etc.) or outdated are taken to recycling. Please help make our work go more smoothly by donating only materials that are in good condition.
